Ursula Stephens

Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector
Ursula Stephens Ursula Stephens was first elected to the Senate in 2001 and is currently Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector. After growing up in Grafton and studying at the Teachers College in Goulburn, Senator Stephens taught in Sydney and Goulburn, and worked and studied in the Northern Territory before returning to NSW. A member of the ALP since 1975, she has also held various senior positions within the party. Senator Stephens has been Chair of the Rural Communities Consultative Council; a member of the NSW Rural Assistance Authority; a member of the NSW Board of Vocational Education and Training; and Deputy Chair of the NSW Women's Advisory Council.
