Samantha Barry is a journalist and producer with BBC World News and a media trainer with BBC Media Action. She also works as a technology trainer for the US State Department's global TechCamp programme, is an Academy of Achievement 2012 delegate and was recently named as one of the top 50 female innovators in digital journalism in the world.
Based in London, Samantha has worked in over 20 countries, training journalists in broadcasting, technology and social media. Her roles have included working in Papua New Guinea with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s International Projects and AusAdid, training dozens of young journalists in Burma last year for a BBC Media Action project, and working on conflict-sensitive journalism with reporters in Northern Nigeria. She’s is also currently working on a start-up video app for mobile journalism, called Vizibee.
