Rose Amazan
Lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney
Rose Amazan
is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney. Rose was born in Haiti which has given her a very personal understanding of the power education can have in transforming lives, particularly when it comes to girls.
Rose’s research and teaching is in the area of international and developmental education. She has conducted research on the Ethiopian skilled diaspora with a strong focus on skilled female diasporas.
Her research experience spreads across themes of education and belonging, skilled-migration, diaspora mobility, knowledge transfer, female skilled migration/mobility and knowledge. Rose's commitment to community development and grassroots organizing, as well as her work in Ethiopia, continue to inform and motivate her research.
