Liz Barrett

AID/WATCH is an independent membership-based watchdog on aid, trade and debt, working with communities in the Global South. Liz joined AID/WATCH as Director in December 2011 and has been working with Melanesian communities and organisations around the issues of land rights and threats to customary land.

Liz is a seasoned and passionate campaigner who has been involved in social justice movements for many years. Prior to joining AID/WATCH Liz was a member of the Australian Trade Union movement working on national campaigns that empowered workers to fight for better wages and conditions in the cleaning and childcare sectors. Liz holds an Bachelor of Development Studies (hons) and is currently furthering her interest in participatory development models and Indigenous rights through a Masters in Indigenous policy at ANU.
