Kate Eversteyn is the Child Protection Specialist at AusAID, having served in this role since March 2010. Kate’s expertise in child protection and a child protection systems approach has been a key factor in the successful implementation of AusAID’s Child Protection Policy. Prior to joining AusAID, Kate worked for twenty years as a youth worker and social worker, offering counselling services, program delivery, policy development and supporting communities in response to a range of critical incidents. With a strong focus on child protection, she has taken a leadership role in providing better outcomes for children and young people at Commonwealth, state and local levels.
