Alderman Jeremy Ball was elected to Council in November 2007 and was elected as Deputy Mayor in 2011. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Art (NIDA) and a Diploma of Business.
Alderman Ball grew up in Launceston but spent most of his adult life studying and working interstate and overseas, spending time in Japan and Europe, he also speaks French and Japanese. Alderman Ball has worked in the arts, business and education sectors and has also worked as an advisor to the Tasmanian Greens. He last worked as the coordinator of an employment program he devised for migrants and humanitarian entrants.
Alderman Ball currently serves on the Strategic Planning and Policy Committee; the General Manager's Contract and Performance Review Committee; the Heritage Advisory Committee; the Launceston Bike Committee; the Street Tree Advisory Committee; the North Bank Committee and the Tamar Region NRM Group for the Launceston City Council.
